What makes a logo memorable?

Most of us could easily draw the apple, nike, adidas, or instagram logo, but why?

Well, two things. First, these logos are simple, they are easily recognizable when you see them, and they aren’t so complex that we would have trouble drawing them. The second thing is publicity. Apple advertises its label on its computers, on its stores, and in its advertisements, but apple’s logo really stands for something. The logo stands for easy user interface, simple design, beautiful, unique packaging, powerful capability, and a high-tech feel. The logo stands for these things because the company has delivered on them. Over time, Apple, through their good business has made their logo into a powerful symbol that most people can easily recognize.

So, you can’t just make a simple logo and think everyone will remember it. You need to increase other peoples positive interactions with your logo (really with your company). If you strive above all to deliver high-quality, good looking tutorial videos in your company, every time someone watches your video, they need to easily identify your logo. Every time someone has a positive interaction and connects your logo with that interaction, you get an experience transaction that boosts your brand awareness just that much.

So, make your logo simple and easily recognizable, and put your hand to the plough as you advertise and provide quality services.

Remember! You must deliver on what you advertise or there’s no way you’ll get the positive publicity you need for your brand. In fact, if you fail to deliver on what you advertise, your logo will be associated with negative publicity, a curse that every company should dread.
